W Łodzi 1 kwietnia rozpoczęła się niezwykła wystawa - Manufaktura Robotów organizowana przez Interaktywne Centrum Nauki i Techniki "Experymentarium" pod patronatem naukowym Politechniki Łódzkiej. Jednym z wielu eksponatów wystawy było urządzenie z oferty LIW - cybernetyczny egzoszkielet -CYBERWALK. Jest to prototyp urządzenia przeznaczony dla osób z porażeniem i niedowładem kończyn dolnych. To wyjątkowe urządzenie będzie pozwalało na poruszanie się tzn. wstawanie, siadanie i chodzenie. Poruszanie będzie możliwie dzięki odpowiednio sterowanym mechanizmom elektroniczno-mechanicznym. Wszystkie czynności pacjent będzie wykonywał nie wkładając w to większego wysiłku i ruch kończyn dolnych będzie jak najbardziej zbliżony do anatomicznego schematu chodu.
Urządzenie to usprawni osoby z niedowładem kończyn dolnych do stopnia samodzielnej możliwości przemieszczania się.
